Aleksei Makhortov
Bio
Aleksei Makhortov is an accomplished audit professional with more than fifteen years of experience in the profession. Since beginning his auditing career in 2010, he has developed extensive experience across a range of industries and complex engagements. Prior to joining Moore Belize LLP, Aleksei held professional positions with Moore Stephens and Baker Tilly offices in Russia, where he gained valuable experience serving clients across banking, shipping, real estate, and other commercial sectors.
Throughout his career, Aleksei has led audit teams serving organizations within the financial services, hospitality, and wholesale trading industries. His experience includes working on complex banking engagements and contributing to the successful audits of four major banking institutions and banking groups in Belize during his tenure as an Audit Senior.
As Audit Manager, Aleksei provides leadership throughout the audit engagement lifecycle, overseeing planning, coordination, resource allocation, fieldwork, and completion. He brings a strong understanding of professional standards and regulatory requirements, together with a practical approach to managing complex assignments and meeting client expectations.
Aleksei also provides leadership and mentorship to audit seniors and junior professionals, supporting their technical development and fostering an environment focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. His combination of international experience, technical knowledge, and hands-on engagement leadership enables him to provide clients with a professional and dependable approach to audit, compliance, and advisory matters.
